What is Digital Citizenship?

Digital citizenship is the standard in which technology users are to govern themselves in the digital world.

Digital Citizenship is an idea which helps educators, technology leaders, and parents comprehend what students, children, and technology users should know in order to utilize technology effectively.

Digital Citizenship is a new found

area for our global society. The

idea of digital citizenship is to

prepare students and technology

users for a world full of technology. Repeatedly, we are seeing students and adults abuse and mishandle technology, yet are uncertain of how to hold them accountable.

Digital citizenship is outlining and describing what is suitable technology usage. With highly descriptive examples of what it looks like to be a decent digital citizen. For it is more than just about expressing yourself and feeling comfortable, but about making those around you feel safe and comfortable as well. Your digital footprint follows you forever!
