Importance of Equal Access

Student access to technology is crucial in every part of education.  It opens the door for collaboration within the classroom, which in turn prepares students for the future where they will be required to collaborate with coworkers to resolve problems and create solutions.

Teachers should encourage and support technology in the classroom.  Research shows that when incorporated correctly, students take active ownership of their learning and develop creative ways to show what they have learned. Using multiple applications is important, for each are designed to meet the learning styles of various students, thus making the technologically rich classroom a great place to learn!

The number of educational apps for computers, laptops, iPads, etc. is growing at an alarming rate.  The speed of improvements and new and even more sophisticated technology is constantly evolving.  Developers seek improvements and spend countless hours developing new educational apps and e-Learning courses that have proven positive results.

Ensuring ALL students have equal access to technology has been on the forefront of education for some time.  Is it possible to create a classroom with equal access to technology for every student?

While many school systems are working diligently to create a one-to-one technology-linked classroom, there are still many that have limited access to much needed computers, laptops, iPads, etc.
